Making Home Repairs Means Shopping!!!

Home repairs require shopping. While doing a home inspection in Maple Grove Minnesota today I quickly came to the conclusion that this house was maintained and repaired by a typical do it yourself person based on the poor quality of work.  I have nothing against people attempting to repair common things in a home but as a home inspector and a person who repairs his own home I found something that we struggle with that can result in doing a poor job on that repair. .

Its perceived that new homes will not have anything wrong with them but that is hardly ever the case.  These days homes are build in a very short time using many different contractors. It is very difficult to coordinate the timing of the entire construction process due to sub contractors schedules, weather, and material availability. This is when things can get.

Maintaining your vegetation growth to prolong your siding and shingles By Pete Busch Like all things our trees and shrubs in our yards need periodic maintenance. Honestly though, as a home inspector I couldn't care less about the health of your trees, shrubs, or flower garden and if you asked me for growing advise I wouldn't know what to tell you. What I can tell you though is if you don't keep them trimmed away from your valuable siding or roof you will cause abrasion damage which.

Ground Clearance From Siding

Improper Landscape Grade By Pete Busch A very common defect found during a typical home inspection is high grade. High grade when your yard is too high where it meets the side of your house. Your basement foundation walls are typically concrete block or poured concrete. At the top of the foundation walls is where your wood framing starts. To.

Furnace Tune Up And Safety Check By Pete Busch A forced air furnace is an appliance that is typically forgotten about until it stops working.  Furnaces are installed in the ugliest room in the house, their anything but exciting, and are generally taken for granted until something breaks on it, or even worse, creates a deadly carbon monoxide condition inside your home. I know were all still thinking its summer but winter heating season will be upon us very soon. Now is the time to call your local.

Leaking Condensate Pan By Pete Busch When you bought your new furnace and central air conditioner or when you bought your house and had it inspected you were probably told to have it serviced by a licensed HVAC contractor on a yearly basis.
